Pressure for a new size

Changing size or load rating changes how much air the tire needs to carry your vehicle. Find the pressure that matches what the original tires carried.

Why pressure changes with size

How much a tire can carry depends on its size, construction and air pressure. The pressure on your door placard was set for the original tire. A light-truck tire usually needs more air than a passenger tire to carry the same weight. This calculator estimates it from the standard load-inflation curve; always check the tire maker’s own table and never exceed the sidewall maximum.
